My problem is " We are working with CSM to make changes" all the CSMs belong to NULL SOV holders. they should be the people who are not asked. They benefit from NOT fixing the system.
This is like asking the RICH if they want to be TAXED more. OF course they will say no. |

NinjaTurtle wrote:Is it me or does this seems like an uncharacteristically heavy-handed balance pass? Some of these ideas could be great if you applied them more specifically but at this point you're just swinging the bat as you walk through the room. Thumbs down. They need to take a big swing. If they do nothing the game WILL bleed to death.
This at least gives a chance of survival.
Doing nothing= Certain death This plan = maybe life maybe death. Better than certain death. |

KanmanDS wrote:While these changes MAY be necessary to get the capital ship situation under control, these jump fatigue mechanics should NOT apply to sub-capitals ships. Sub capital ships using their Alliance jump bridges or black ops fleets sneaking around to cause shinanigans is NOT a problem in this game. No one's empire is collapsing to ashes due to unrelenting black ops fleets, and no one wants to hold a Sunday Night Black Ops fleet with 45 minute interludes between drops.
What if you try to launch a fleet for PVP roam and some of your guys have used the jump bridge recently. If your route intended to go through the bridge, go roam, then return home through the bridge, your fleet members may have a wide range of very different jump delay timers when it is time to return.
Forcing the 'everyman' in to more dangerous or time-consuming situations to accomplish 'everday activities' within the game will only frustrate young/new players, deminishing new-player retention.
MAYBE this mechanic makes sense for capitals. Maybe just super-capitals. But definitely DO NOT do this to pilots in sub-capital ships. It shouldn't apply to jump bridges or haulers or MOST sub caps. It should apply to Black OPs because hot dropping is WAY out of control. I cant even begin to tell you how many ratting ships I've lost to 1 ship dropping 40 bombers on my head. Its dumb old and ridiculous, especially when said cyno ship can sit in your system cloaked for weeks at a time. |

So the game is not evolving, its actualy rolling back Eve is a sandbox, you just have to adapt. Well i have done that since 2005, but i cant adapt to get more RL time to play the game Ha ha cap pilot tears are the best tears. Ya proberbly, but stil sux to loose the one asset we had so we could live in 0.0 as a small corp Again, i have been changing play style since 2005, every hick up, every "awsome" change, in general they have not toutched the one thing i cant do anything about, RL time to play the game. Over the years they actualy made it a tad easyer. I will wait and se, but these changes might be that one magical drop in the glass Kinda sux getting a felling about being forced out of a game because i want to keep a RL to. (Im a semi old fart with family and a job) This exactly. These changes do not make it harder for me to play - they make it impossible. I will unsub over the JF nerf because I have no choice. Those suggesting we produce locally in 0.0 or use blockade runners are ignorance incarnate, dancing around on stilts wearing clown costumes. Bye... I miss you already. You wont be missed. |

Ormarr Kai wrote:Does CCP even think about their next patch or just randomly guess changes? This will stagnate nullsec even more. The real target should be sov mechanics. Half of these changes also bite into eve's lore.
Eve is all about big fights and coalitions. Maybe add more systems to spread things out. Do you have any idea how many empty systems there are? We don't need more systems... |

J A Aloysiusz wrote:I believe that:
- Dreads and carriers, as lighter, less powerful ships, should not be subjected to the same level of penalty as the true behemoths of the game. - Carriers have a unique and fairly well-balanced logistical capability, and should be allowed to maintain that capability as much as possible. - Bridging through ships should not subject the same level of penalty as jumping - if bridging is penalized less harshly than jumping, then bridging can be used to project a light force forward, to bide time for the behemoths to get into position, and that's the way warfare should be. - If the current iteration of the proposed changes is not tempered, the rorqual will be more useful in many combat situations than the chimera, and that's not the way EVE warfare should be.
Therefore, I propose that: -Rather than a flat range limit for all capital ships, all (combat) capitals simply have their current maximum jump range halved. -Mass is added as a factor in the accumulation of jump fatigue for (combat) capitals. This will affect regular capitals less than supercapitals, allowing them to be somewhat more mobile, but still significantly less so than their current state. -Jump fatigue be greatly reduced for ships that are taking a bridge, allowing them to act as skirmish or fixing forces.
If you agree with some/all of my proposed changes, please +1, comment, etc.
o7 I do agree there needs to be some size/class relevance. This would elevate the problems with haulers/freighters etc.(hopefully) |

Master Dumi wrote:YOU are Killing EvE again.
Looks like the best reason to QUIT now :
1. Life will get impossible in deep 0.0 and Capitals will become giant old ships that nobody want them. 2. Without any benefits from Capitals players will stop learning and building them and loosing goals = loosing players 3. Sure you hate 0.0 because of the stress on your servers due to 3000 pilot fights but that is the reason ppl join EVE, that is the reason EVE is so great. 4. This will not balance the 0.0 - it will take out the pleasure of 0.0 ppl to play EvE and a lot of them will QUIT.
My advice : You have the CSM, use those ppl to come up with ideas to improve EvE. Stop letting employes that did not play the game for a long time to change this game. EvE is a great great game - stop changing the game. For the record I HATE the 3000 man fights. Secondly there is things to build other than capitals. Thirdly, time die makes me want to cry and this BLOB PvP has absolutely KILLED small gang/solo PvP. You don't need to be good as an individual you just need to put more ships on field, unstack your guns and camp gates better than the other guys. I didn't join the game for the BLOB PvP sorry to burst your bubble. |

Is this causing the human reaction to all problems (real or in game) to cause the stagnation in the game? I have been trying to keep up with this threadnought till my eyes bled. From what I have read, it seems that the fixes are trying to overcome a fundamental flaw in the map? A two camp system simply because that's the way the map fell into place in a time long time ago when the game was first out and no one knew how far it would go? Updated/nerfed/whatever since then? Seems to me (and no, I don't fly in low/null, yes, I can fly caps/jf) that some good alternatives were put forth as a better solution to the "current" problem. But few keep bumping them? Everyone seems more happy to bash each other over to many things that do not apply to this thread or help with the matter at hand. (bends over for upcoming b*ttf**k) The basic fault is Yar! Captain Neckbeard! pressing a GIANT RESET button on null sec by OP-Crush-It-With-A-Viking-Hammer theorycraft (we had lots of options but went with this one cause someone one a coin toss) feature *nerf* of Capitals; in an attempt to start building EVE 2. They made something... we broke it. They made something more ... and we broke that. Instead of *fixing* the game mechanics, their now breaking our ships to forcibly social engineer Null Sec behavior. ... Sociopathic game development at its finest! I must admit, the player base adapts much better/faster than CCP. I hate hotdroppers/capitals but I really hate seeing the jump freighters wrapped up in this. My buddy cant even go from 2 adjacent systems with max skills (Kari-YMP) in Providence (1 jump by stargate). Jump freighters are literally useless. Cant even go next door to some systems with this nerf. |
